As we prepare for the Schoharie Antique show, and the kick-off of our 2010 show season, I want to rerun a post from a year ago.  Following are my tips for enjoying an antique show, whether you are a seasoned antiquer or a newbie to the game .
1.  Bring cash.
Many antique show dealers do not [...]

We are busy as little bees, getting ready for the antiques show in Albany this Friday and Saturday.  We would love to see you there!  Here are the details one more time, and a few photos from our preparations.
The Albany Show at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church
Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13th and 14th 2009.   [...]

Our friends Bobby & Janet Sherwood and David & Bonnie Ferriss, who together run Antiques at 30B in Cambridge NY, will also be exhibiting at The Albany Show next week.  They collectively have a terrific eye for early and interesting antiques.  They carry fabulous cupboards, tables and other bigs – one of my favorite items [...]

I have come to a realization, which is:  It has been a long time since we did an antiques show for the first time.  A long time since we were the “newbies” at a venue — we’ve been doing the same shows for years!  But next week we will be setting up at The Albany [...]

Newest Addition to Our Dog Family

September 17th, 2009

Just a little quickie for you today, as we are busy preparing for the Schoharie Fall Antiques show.  We set up tomorrow, and the show is Sat. and Sun.  There is lots to do between now and then, believe me!
But I wanted to share with you one of Steven’s recent finds, and the newest addition [...]

I can hardly believe it is almost the end of June.  But it is, and the good news is that the time has come to get ready for our fave antique show of the year – the Round Lake Antiques Festival next Saturday and Sunday, June 27 & 28.  We love this show for lot of reasons, many of which [...]

We spent most of last week in Brimfield MA, at the gi-normous thrice annual Brimfield antiques fair, a conglomeration of a dozen or so different antique shows held in dusty close proximity on Rt. 20 in this little town.  I shopped the Tuesday shows and then we set up and sold on Wednesday, at Hertan’s field.  The [...]

We went into set-up for the Antiques in Schoharie show last weekend with an open mind.  In the current economic climate, we did not know what to expect in terms of attendance or sales.  So we tried to not have expectations – not an easy trick.  You can imagine our surprise and pleasure at the crowd that showed [...]
