Word Study: Texture

Words are cool.  I like words.

Just a single word, something as broad and abstract as “texture”, conjures up emotions, memories, pictures in your mind.  Different for everybody.  What was your first thought when you saw the title of this post?

I was working through a portion of Danielle LaPorte’s Fire Starter Sessions (awesome resource for any entrepreneur looking for a positive kick in the business pants) and she asked me to describe my business in one word.  My mind immediately went blank.  Probably not a good sign.

Truly Repurposed – Hanging Industrial Light

This unusual light has a lot going for it.  It has the metal wire and patina that is so hot in industrial pieces right now.  But it also has a touch of whimsy and fun, kind of a jaunty attitude.

In a former life, it was an apple picker.  Totally utilitarian, simply meant to make a menial job easier.

But now, it gets a second chance.  To live a new life, with style!

See That Nifty “Tandem Store” Button Up There?

I am trying something new.  I have long been unhappy with the online shop interface that I had on this blog.  It never looked as smooth and clean as I wanted it to, and it was not easy to use.

So, on Friday, I installed an new e-commerce product.  Wazala.com puts out a slick little overlay storefront that downloads to my self-hosted WordPress site as a plugin.  So far I am happy with it.  I like the look, and the back-end is quite easy to use.
