As I planned this post in my mind, I googled the word “vignette”.  At first I was alarmed — did this word, which I use often and with confidence, not mean what I thought it meant?  Would I have to take this post in a whole Princess Bride direction?  But then I read further.

This is my latest typograhical find, and I’m quite taken with it.  It is an old advertising sign printed on thick stock paper.  The type bites deeply into the paper, making heavy impressions.  The words are highlighted by the most gorgeous, rich, shimmery colors – teal, fuschia, purple, deep royal blue.
