Summertime…

And the living is … Busy?
I hope you are having a wonderful summer. We are, although I wouldn’t mind a free moment to sit back and appreciate it.
I am beginning to look forward to September and the start of the school year (bite your tongue, Mom!) so I can catch a little break in the excitement. Our plates are full this season with antique shows, family trips and working with our youth group. What is filling your calendar this summer?

Steven’s Objects – Launched at High Point Market

My husband is an artist.

He has the eye and sensibilities of an artist, and in our business that can lead down strange and interesting paths.

Steven has always collected unusual objects, and they have had an important place in our offerings at shows and in our shop. They are wonderful to have in our booth, as they often spark great conversations with like-minded (or like-eyed) customers who appreciate both the beauty and the quirk.

But the challenge has always been a) how to display them for sale and b) how to demonstrate to the customer that they can use…

Antiques at the High Point Furniture Market

Today was the opening of the antiques show we’re doing at High Point Market, at the lovely Antique & Design Center at Market Square.

I would love to tell you clever, amusing stories about the day, complete with pithy comments and witty repartee. Unfortunately, I am really tired. Way too tired to be clever or amusing, and definitely beyond pithy.

It was a good day, and it’s going to be a really good week, but I just can’t type much about it right now.
