Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you have a wonderful day!
We are not A) going out to brunch or B) sending me off for a day at the spa. While both of those would be just fine with me ordinarily, tomorrow has a different agenda. We are off to Brimfield!
We will be there all week shopping, selling and promoting the Round Lake and Cooperstown antique shows that we manage. And I am totally looking forward to it! I love the energy, the bustle, the STUFF! And the people – this is a terrific opportunity for me to catch up with dealers who are interested in doing the Round Lake show, especially, that we haven’t been able to make contact with.
We set up on Hertan’s field at Brimfield, which opens Wednesday at noon. We will be in booths 77 and 64 (which back up to each other, so it should be an interesting arrangement.) So come see us there, or keep your eye out for me pretty much everywhere as I walk the fields and talk to folks.
See you there! And if you can’t make it, keep you eye on our Facebook page for photos and updates!

Well, that’s not completely true. The Round Lake Antiques Festival (June 22/23 this year) has been around for 40+ years and is hosted by the Women’s Round Lake Improvement Society. It is a fundraiser for Round Lake’s charming village library.

But some changes have taken place, and WRLIS has hired me and Steven to manage the show! We are so excited! I don’t have to tell you how much we love the Round Lake show or how fond we have become of the village and the folks who live there. I’ve written about it here more than once! (read old posts about Round Lake here and here.)
The Round Lake show has a rich history and a long-standing good reputation. Our goals are to preserve all the great things about the show, and improve the areas that need a nudge in the right direction.
Our first challenge is getting in touch with all the dealers who regularly do the show. We do not have access to the mailing list from previous years so we are re-creating it, starting with our contacts from the Cooperstown show. Many dealers are helping to spread the word (and our phone number!) and the list is growing!
The brand new website for the show is in the works and will launch soon! Included there will be lists of exhibiting dealers and their websites, printable contracts, maps and more. I’ll let you know as soon as it is live.
Please feel free to get in touch with us about the show, and pass our contact info to anyone who might be interested! We can be reached at 607-652-4798 and 607-435-1851 as well as by email, through this site, etc.
In addition, we welcome your thoughts and suggestions to improve the show. Give me a call and let me know what you think!
The Round Lake show is now on Facebook! Please go to the page and “like” it, and then ask your friends to do the same!
This year’s show is June 22 & 23, so mark your calendars!

Hello all! The holidays have come and gone, and we are almost 3 weeks into the new year! Faster than a speeding bullet, I tell you!
I believe this is going to be an exciting year – we have projects and opportunities everywhere we turn! So let’s just say it’s 2013 is going to rock. There, settled that.
Today I’m announcing Project #1: Scowters!
What, you ask, is that? It’s a coast-to-coast conglomerate of dealers who have gotten together and organized weekly flash sales. This is a truly diverse and talented bunch, dealing in many genres including high-end modern design, antiques, decorative accessories, jewelry, primitives and fine art. It’s a cool bunch of peeps, and the selections coming to you weekly, beginning Thursday 1/24/13 at 8pm ET, are going to blow your mind!
Facebook-based, at this time, find everything Scowters on their page here. And you can follow them on twitter here.
Steve and I are totally psyched to be part of this dynamic bunch, and we are prepping items now to be included in the kick-off sale. I don’t want to give away too much, but I have a few words to whet your appetite: elephant lamp, murano glass, cloisonne birds. Mmmm…

The first sale is happening soon, and you want to be in on it before everybody finds out! So get over there now, hit “like” so you get all the updates, and be there at 8pm ET next Thursday, 1/24! See you then!
